About Robin

I’ve always felt that there’s a massive gap between the “digital nomad” dream you see online and the actual reality of sitting in front of a screen, waiting for a notification to pop up. This page isn’t a resume or a list of services. It’s just me, documenting what it actually looks like to try and carve out a path in the world of remote work while balancing the having a full-time job.

I decided to start this blog because I wanted a place to record the process. My time is spent navigating freelance projects and the quiet frustration of a proposal that goes ignored for days while I juggle my daily responsibilities. I’m documenting the raw version of this journey—the hours spent with my tablet and keyboard, stylus in hand, trying to find the right words for a pitch or refining my project catalogs for the third or fourth time just to get a foot in the door on Upwork.

Remote work can be incredibly isolating, and it’s easy to feel like you’re the only one struggling with a learning curve or a rejected application after a long day at the office. By writing this down as a personal history, I’m keeping myself accountable. If things go well, I’ll have a record of how I got there. If I hit a wall, I’ll have a place to regroup and figure out the next move. I’m approaching this with a diary-style honesty because I want to look back a year from now and see the distance between where I started and where I ended up.

Right now, I’m still very much in the middle of it. I’m still learning, still applying, and still figuring out how to build this side of my professional life in the gaps of my schedule. If you’re here, you’re reading the unedited version of my story. There is no polish or corporate filler here—just the progress, the setbacks, and the small wins, one day at a time.
