Is Mobile Legends For Solo Players?

A big NO

Mobile Legends Bang Bang is clearly not for Solo Players like me. Playing this game on Solo Queue is definitely going to be a headache. I’ve reached Mythic rank in just a few months of playing the game but it was clearly on a certain condition—it’s easy to rank up at the last few weeks of the season where there are less serious players playing Ranked Games. It’s a breeze to Rank Up to Mythic in the last 2 weeks.

A Game for Groupies

Mobile Legends is clearly a very highly social game. It’s very hard to go high in ranks with a bunch of randoms because so many players are just like me.

Lots of people in this game play with friends and family. Don’t forget those kids going on an e-date with their girlfriend/boyfriend—ugh, it’s cringe thinking about it. You have to hypercarry the whole team because both of them suck at the game.

I get reported in the game just because they want to and for no valid reason. I remember perfectly I was reported in-game when the game teamed me up with a family: mom, dad, and 2 kids. Then I heard their young boy said “report him” and they we’re all cheering then poking fun at me. This is a very typical Filipino gaming community—VERY TOXIC.

Me, Myself, and I? What Solo grinders are actually up to:

  • Rank Up Solo: The reason why I rank up solo because I’m just not very social when it comes to video games. I might spit some unpleasant words playing the game when my team-mate keeps dying. I also don’t like teaching people what role to play, how to play the game, and keep nagging what combo we should do. Why do I need to babysit some players as I’m not being paid to coach someone anyway?
  • Just have fun and enjoy playing the game. Well…only when I have a win-streak is when I’m happy.
  • Practising non-meta heroes in their lane. (The community calls this the dark-system.) I don’t know why people hate this! This is very essential to game the system. It’s a natural process of finding new metas to dominate MLBB and any other competitive games out there. I used to do this to League of Legends and still the same story where people report me for ruining their time.

You tend to lose a lot of times after having a winstreak because of so many reasons:

  • They’re tilting and brain is not focused on the game. They’re no longer having fun.
  • Depressed and tends to lose on purpose because they put no more effort in the game.
  • The same reason as practising non-meta heroes in the game, keeps dying, and loses because they’re still not good at it.
  • You’re playing against a whole 5 man team and the only way you’ll win is either enemy team is really bad or you get a team of randos that we’re Mythics, Mythic Honor, Mythic Glory, or Mythic Immortal in the previous season.
  • 100% Losing when you’re teamed-up with TROLLS. They will deliberately just throw your game because they don’t like you. You probably played against them in some game before and you DEFEATED their team by a landslide. They probably memorized your in-game name and ID just to do some petty revenge against you.
  • Voice comms in this game is annoying; You can’t even concentrate. Players often ask for an “open mic” game then everything is so loud. You hear the typical Filipino background noise—motorbikes, cars, boisterous kids, karaoke singers, music, dogs barkings, cats meowing, roosters crowing, and don’t forget construction site metal banging orchestra in the weekends.

Pinoy Gaming Mafia

MLBB is overrun by so many organized crooks in the game. It’s one biggest problems you can encounter playing in the Filipino servers.

Rank Boosting Services in Tiktok – This is one of the most blatant cheating mechanics performed by the community. There are lots of good Mythic players out there providing these paid services to low-skilled players to boost their rank in-game. They are “piloting” their customers accounts to reach a certain level depending on how much they pay. It’s destroying the economy because you’ll be playing with very low-skilled players in a high-ranking game with your team getting more deaths than kills.

Simps playing w/ E-Girls – You will see a lot of gamer girls on Tiktok getting up to ranks like Mythic Honor or Glory with little to no skill at all. These E-Girls play with the best players in the game to rank up. All they do is leech MMR from the pros. But when they play Solo…they are shit at the game.

Fans letting only Pro Players Teams Win – The most annoying simps of all time! These dickriding fans of Pro Teams are very toxic. They carry the Pro Teams tags in their Squad names sounding like ONIC (ONIC Esports), RORA (Aurora Gaming PH), FLCN (Team Falcons PH), TS (Team Spirit), TLPH (Team Liquid PH), BLCK (Blacklist International).

  • They only care about their group and their group and will isolate you. They only communicate within their squadmates and will not collab with you in their tactics.
  • Playstyle is squad centric and they play perfectly but their combos are for themselves, You are not included in the picture! When you get ganked and it doesn’t benefit them—you are on your own. NO BACK UP FOR YOU.
  • Enemy Pro Team Fanatics will also play against you with great combo precision. You are left to die all the time as your team with Pro Fanatics doesn’t care about you.
  • Mass Report you when the game is a LOSS. They’ll blame everything on you because you’re not their kind. They’ll make false reports and claims. Sad thing is the automated system will accept the report by majority vote.

Match Fixing – I do feel that lots of my games in Legend and Higher ranks are fixed. Someone keeps voting a SURRENDER all the time. I don’t know if this is done by Pro Team fanatics or if someone is paying them to do this. Just my conspiracy theory is that wealthy gamers or organizations are keeping the in-game rankings in check for them to stay on top of the leaderboard.

Maybe I’ll Find A Solo Player’s Game

I’ve been playing this game for 2 years now. I’m not an addict on this game (playing on and off) but I started playing MLBB because the company I used to work for held tournaments on occassions for events and they give some prize pools. I never won a single tournament though—possibly fixed matches(how sad).

If I can’t crack the code to reach Mythic Immortal just by playing alone in this game, then I’ll have no choice but to switch to any game I’m compatible with Ranking myself to Top 1.

But for now, I’ll still try to grind this game and see if I still got the skills.
